New irons designed with direction from Justin Rose now available
The new T//World 747 Rose Proto MB Irons have officially launched worldwide, Honma announced Wednesday. The clubs were designed with extensive input and direction from Justin Rose, the top-ranked player in the world. Rose Proto MB Irons can be experienced in retail shops around the world.
The irons were meticulously crafted and designed at Honma’s headquarters in Sakata, Japan and feature a forged construction with S20C mild steel and aggressive styling. The process took several months of testing and modifying before coming to a final shape and construction. Rose has used the irons in every event in 2019, including in his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in January.
Rose has stated part of his reasoning for signing with Honma was the opportunity to have direct input in the design of his clubs. “The idea of having a hand in the collaborative design process for my set of clubs was extremely exciting. Working with the Honma master craftsmen to create an iron that felt and looked great for me was one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Rose.
“Going into this, we knew how particular and discerning Justin is and we had a feeling he’d be interested in contributing to the design of his clubs. Justin and our craftsmen worked together seamlessly and we’re thrilled for the golfing community to experience what Justin did,” said Honma’s Chief Marketing Officer John Kawaja.
The T//World Rose Proto MB Irons will sell for $174.99 USD per club and will come in a 4-10 iron set configuration. A Rose Proto MB 3-iron will also be available for single club sale for golfers who prefer a 3-10 configuration.
